Our servants at the BLM are determined to defy the American people (again) by taking action that will LIKELY result in the destruction of this herd. Only a 10 year court battle stopped them from wiping out a Western Colorado herd. Animal lovers might remember the great video about the stallion Cloud by filmmaker Ginger Kathrens that aired on PBS. DESPITE popular opposition, healthy range conditions, and local predator populations that will control herd numbers, the BLM HAS to have its way. Horses WILL be injured & killed by their heavy-handed techno-tactics.
PLEASE check it out at link below. Hear Ginger Kathrens message & sign the petition. Better yet, call/email interior sec'y & our Senators. Petition & numbers at this link:

THANK YOU THANK YOU. These horses go back to Lewis & Clark and Spanish Conquistadors. I don't think they hurt anybody.
I have horses and have owned and operated a full-service horse boarding facility here in Bozeman for years. I started boarding horses in response to my friends needing someone reliable to care for their horses when they went on vacation and it expanded from there.
After many years of primarily boarding horses on-site, I've now started offering holiday horse care similar to pet sitting. I can care for your horses at your home or mine. My question today is where might you look for information about such a horse/pet service? Most people look in the classifieds if they are wanting to buy a horse, but you don't see anything about horse sitting! Thanks for your input. Sincerely, Rosi Slater
HELP! I went to brush my horse this morning and noticed what looked like tree sap on his back (small clump about 1 inch wide) and when I went to remove it very carefully, the hair pulled off reveiling a circular wound. I kept looking and found 10 more smaller ones just like the first. The first clump is by far the worst. It's a weekend and I will call the vet on monday, but I wanted any ideas of what this could be. I cleaned it with hydrogen peroxide and my horse doesn't seem like it hurts, just itchy. Thank you.
Does anyone have any secrets for keeping the moisture out of your horses hooves? The only catch is that you can't move them from their muddy pen.
Horse shoer's secret? Pine Tar? Daily washing? Clay? Sand? I put straw down around the water and feeder so she doesn't have to stand in mud, but is there anything else?
What are some of the plants in this region that are bad for horses?
This is the kind of bridle that I have and use on my horse. I'm not anti bit, but I do like that I don't have to warm it up in the winter to put it on her face, and all I have to do to clean it is hose it off.
I say that if you don't need it, why have it and use it? If I don't need a bit to get my horse to collect and to steer and stop, then I'm not going to use it. Thoughts on bits vs. bitless?
I am looking into getting something other than spray to deter fly's from biting my horse this summer. Has anyone ever tried these? Do they really work?
I took this photo in my MSU photography Class. Several in the class didn't see any meaning but others did. Can you find symbolism in this photo?
I am against the use of horses in anything in a rodeo that you have to strap something to them to make them perform in a certain way. I know that rodeos claim to take great care of their Bronc horses, but many of them have chipped feet and end up going crazy from all the trauma. I say no to Bucking Horses.
I once heard a rumor that if you were to ride your horse to any government owned building (a bank, courthouse, school ect.) that the establishment had to provide your horse somewhere to stand, water to drink and hay to eat.
Is this true?
I am in dire need of trail ideas for hiking and riding! What are some of your favorites?
On sat 3 of my friends and I went on an all day trail ride in search of one my friends missing mustang. It was great fun, but we didn't find her horse.
My friends horse jumped her fence last week and is now roaming the Logan Manhattan area (last seen near the Logan Range) He is a dark blue roan and he has a red halter. He is a Mustang and he stands about 15 hands tall. If you've seen him PLEASE let me know through this post.
THANK YOU
I live in Montana and enjoy a good rodeo once in awhile... I've overheard some people concerned about how animals are treated in rodeos. Any thoughts on the topic?
I was riding my scooter home (hense the helmet, no I don't need a helmet to touch a horse on the other side of the fence) and found this little guy! This is where that barn was that looked like it was about to collapse. That barn is gone now and I don't know if the horses are still there.
I took this photo for photography class at MSU.
It has nice contrast, don't you think?
Horse riding has always been a part of my life. Here we are a ready to go on a casual ride.
A long time ago I rode in a Poker Run in Virgina City and a couple years ago in an Elk Park Horse Poker Run. Are there poker runs taking place here in Bozeman? How do I find out about them?
Bonny is my 7 year old AQHA mare. She was mistreated very badly when I got her, and no one could touch her. Now I can put children on her and have no fear.
She and I are the best of friends, and I must admit...I am a little obsessed. I plan to compete with her this summer as well. I luv my Bonny Sunny Rebel!! |
