| I tried the training at petsmart, and only went to two sessions. I wasn't real happy with it. My vet reccomended a book "the art of raising a puppy" by the monks of New Skete. I have had great luck with their program. | |

| The photo posted with this listing is one that I took of a foster puppy sitting on my front deck... I had 3 of the 12 Chesapeake Bay / Heeler Puppies from Heart of the Valley Humane Society.. I had 3 of the little boogers in my home for about 8 weeks. I sent CD's with several photos that I took to the HOV for the new owners.. I do have a lot more photos of these three puppies that I didn't release as they had photos of our home and family members. I would love to see this puppy again or get a updated photo for my foster puppy album. As far as training the book "The art of raising a puppy" and the book "raising a waterdog" are both great books for training.. If you would like more puppy photos of this dog please let me know.. | If you have a puppy, the very best place to take it is to Paws and People. You won't believe how far along your little friend will be after you have finished Puppy 1 - 3. There is a world of difference between a book trained puppy and one that you have "hands on" guidance with. Paws and People has classes for older dogs as well. I have taken many of the courses from Nancy and she is extremely caring and knowledgeable, and I always come away better for having taken my dogs there. | |

| You can call Their Last Best Place and get Barb Marsell to help. she's in touch with dogs and their people, and has ways you can't believe. All her dogs are awesome, and she can even work with the aggressive ones, and HELP them to boot. bring your receipt of adopting a dog from a rescue or shelter, and she'll help for free. (maybe a gas donation with prices so high ... ask her) Her number is 581-0678, and she's in the bozeman area somewhere. | |

| I have no experience with Paws & People, but we took our puppy to PetsMart and it was pretty good. It probably could have been alot better though. And I have heard great things about the Monks of New Skete, Barnes & Noble has a bunch of their books and I believe they even have a video. | |

| I took my Lab to Petsmart from Puppy to Intermediate and had good luck with Lynn Brown. I recently took my Heeler X to Petsmart for the Puppy class and because the puppy class has a wide range of ages your dog can be, I think its 10wks to 8 months, my little pup was so overwhelmed by the larger dogs she hid under the chair most days. She has learned a lot, but with recommendations from people at work I am starting her with Nancy Tanner, whom I met the other day and just in the short time we talked I was very happy with her advise with my puppy as well as my older (2.5yrs) Lab. | |

| Dog Training is like food. It might all be good but what one person likes is diffrent than what another likes. I have had great success with Rob and Cara at Anduril Kennels they give clear instruction that really work in real life and the do alot with HOTV dogs too! | |
